On of my Users is unable to use the Employee Maintenance screen and gets this message when she attempts to do so.
An open operation on table 'ASI_Explorer_Favorites' failed because the path does not exist.
She reported that when she last used the system she was in the middle of working when there was a disruption in the power supply and her machine went dead so this could be as a result of the power interruption.
i hope someone has had this issue and can advise me how to address it. I have searched but found nothing helpful.
Regards,
Jackie

I know this is an old thread, but had this issue come up today. Closing GP and reopening it and then logging in as SA did not resolve the error.
What fixed it was logging out of the machine entirely and then logging back in. My guess is there are temp files/folders in the user's directory that can cause this issue. Closing GP does not remove those but logging out will clear them out.
Hope this info saves you maybe some time by not having to reboot
The tables for which the errors are occurring are all memory or local temporary tables which are stored as files in the workstation's local temp folder.
If the temp folder is not defined correctly, does not exist, does not have write access, has a full drive or is being blocked by antivirus software, it causes these issues.

We have been getting this as well. Hypervisor VM, GP 2016, SQL Server 2014. The VM is being accessed through VMware Horizon. Rebooting the VM fixes the error, but it is recurring.
The error also occurs on user's physical workstations after any interruption in network connectivity, even when changing from a wired connection to Wi-Fi. This doesn't require a system reboot, only closing and reopening GP.
I just had this on a Hyper-V VM running GP 18.4 and SQL Server 2019.
The errors occurred when trying to login with sa. Closing and relaunching GP did not seem to help.
I rebooted the VM and the errors went away.
An open operation on table 'WCD_Field_Security_Tag_TEMP' failed because the path does not exist
An open operation on table 'ASI_Explorer_Favorites' failed because the path does not exist
We got the exact same error. We had already attempted the recommended steps mentioned above. It came back after a few months. The user was looking up a vendor ID and came across this error. We are on version 2015.
Glad it worked. Was this a new client installation? Our client had just gone through a GP 2015 to GP 2018 upgrade and it was not until they started their daily routines that they noticed this. I can only assume some table had the old server name in it and the 'sa' account had the rights to update that table.
Thank you Richard E Wheeler.
Your second option, login as sa and then have the user login after worked. Everything is back to normal for her.
I just had one of these with one of my clients this morning. The first thing I tried was running the command prompt and typing in %temp%. Then delete all the files you find in the user's temp folder. When that did not work I logged in as 'sa' and went to the exact same screen our user was on and it worked. I then had the user login as themselves and all returned to normal.
