Dynamics CRM app not working on desktop / laptop

Hi - apologies if this has already been answered but I cannot find it on the forum.

I am trying to install the Dynamics CRM app for Windows 8 on a client's desktop and laptop but keep getting the following error (see screenshot attached). This seems to appear on the Dashboards screen.

Error

Sorry something went wrong. Please try again, or restart the app. Error code: 0x0

435706.Capture.PNG

It is an on-premise ADFS IFD 2015 deployment.
The user settings have been updated to be able to use CRM for tablets (Settings - Security - Business Management tab)

We were able to successfully install the app on an iPhone.
Does the app only work on phones/tablets but not on desktops/laptops? We are using a Lenovo yoga3 which doubles as a tablet so doubt this is the problem.

Any suggestions are most welcome
Thanks!!

    Hi Tomred,

Once again you restart the CRMAsychronous Services and reset the IIS.

    After that try again.

    Hello Tomred,

I would like for you to have a check on the compatibility settings for the Dynamics app as sometimes it is seen that the problems may arise due to the compatibility of the machine being used. However as far as the app goes on the Windows laptop or desktop, it should not be a problem.

You may also refer this link

    technet.microsoft.com/.../dn531131(v=crm.6).aspx

You may also enable the tracing by using the following link

    technet.microsoft.com/.../hh699694.aspx

Also I would like you to check if the same problem occurs if the configuration was done by the

    Following Url

    contoso.contosocorp.com/.../main.htm;server=contoso.contosocorp.com

Wherein name contoso should be replaced with the name of the organization

And contosocorp should be replaced with the name of the domain

These are some links for informational purposes.

    Hi Bhartendu,

thanks for the links - unfortunately this didn't fix the issue.

The problem was occuring with the default Sales dashboard, in particular Leads.

As a workaround I removed all charts except "My Activities" from the Sales dashboard - the error has now stopped appearing.

    Regards,

    Tomred.

    Hi Dermot,

We were also facing this error on our tablets.

We have fixed the error in the below way.

Actually when you are signing-into the CRM App, at that time Default dashboard is getting loaded.

And on this Dashboard we were using charts which were associated to some view. The problem was that

as we had changed the view structure or query or fields multiple time, which MS CRM is not able to relate now with these fixed charts.

    Solution:

Please go to the Customization >> Customize the System >> Dashboards >> Default Dashboard

In the Dashboard, remove the Chart that are related to Opportunities and then re-add back the chart to the Dashboard with the same configuration. (This helps refresh the dashboard)

Save and then remember to Publish All Customization.

Please do this steps for all other dashboard where users are facing this error.

Please mark it as Answer if it helps you to resolve this issue.

The error you are facing just because your device not properly updated. If your device not properly updated then you need to sort it out as soon as possible. The main issue behind this error is that iTunes not updated. For the updation of iTunes and how to install the iTunes, you can go through https://itunessupport.org/blog/why-cant-install-itunes-on-windows-10/
