ReportReport

Hi,

We are going to create our own dashboard using Power BI tool.

We would like to prepare the data based on a calculated business logic using X++. (Something like RDP reports)

We found into Customer credit and collections workspace something like what we are looking for, there is a graph that is calculated based on customer aging report.

Please advise how to start creating our own dashboard and calculating the data by using X++ like RDP class.

Thanks

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Peter,

What is it that you want to do with X++?

Extract some data from D365FO tables or something else?

How do you plan to create your PowerBI report?

It's a bit confusing for me.

Would be great if you could elaborate.

    Many thanks,

    Ludwig

    Thanks Amith,,

    Hi Ludwig,

What is it that you want to do with X++?

    • To calculate data based on specific business logic, for example show customer aging based on aging buckets definitions.
    • To calculate average customer payment. (There is a method that calculates)

Extract some data from D365FO tables or something else?

    • Not to extract data as we can create an entity linked to tables or view, We are searching on something like RDP and Tem tables that are used to save the calculated data from default tables and views.

How do you plan to create your PowerBI report?

    • We are going to create PowerBI reports by using windows application then we are going to publish it. And show these reports into our own D365 workspaces by using embedded power BI as we already followed the required setup to integrate power bi with dynamics 365 F&O.

    Hi Peter,

    Many thanks for the clarification.

I think that some of the things that you are looking for are already available in electronic reporting.

Below some examples from the repository

Can you possibly make use of those standard analysis / report tools?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi,

Yes, i know. What if we would like to create our own?

There is a method that calculates the actual average customer payments. For example the customer was defined to pay Net30 days but actually the customer is paying after 42 days.

We already have the method but I don't know how to convert as a data source for PowerBI.
