amounts in word quote disregard discount

Hi,

I am trying to create my first word template. My current problem is with discounts in the quote.

an example:

4540.pastedimage1593006437942v1.png

two products, quantity one each.

there shall be a 5% discount on the final net price.

the overview of the quote shows correct prices:

6765.pastedimage1593006536300v2.png

but i cannot find these numbers in the word template?

the field totaltax is 345,97 in my templatte, the field totalamount is 2085,82.

where can I find them?

Hi Jens,

Please check if the fields names you add are totalamount and totaltax in the template.

thanks for your reply!

Yes, I have more than double checked that I use quote->totalamount and the like.

Now that I digged in deeper I remember that I had this problem since years… better say always since using CRM online :-)

I realized that when I removed the value for freight - suddenly on the overview form (see screenshot above) the values for tax and amount were empty.

I have found that long ago I had 'programmed' a logic behind this form that recalculates tax and amount to the right values.

thats why values are right on my form, but wrong in the word file.

they were always wrong, even years ago :-)

back then I used word mailmerge and calculated the numbers in word.

today with XML I cannot figure out how to calculate within word?

Hi Jens,

So I would recommend you create two custom fields and copy the totalamount and totaltax fields values to these two custom fields.

Business rules can be used to copy values.

Add the two custom fields on the Quote form, create a business rule that set the fields values.

Create a Word template and select these two custom fields to replace the original totalamount and totaltax fields.

Yes I will do that, it seems to be the quickest way.

Anyway I wonder why these values never have been right? Is that only in my case?

And... do you know of a way inside of word to calculate with the XML values?
