LCS apply a methodology to a project

I’m trying to learn Lifecycle services. I see demos where a methodology is applied to a project; however, I have no ability to select a methodology for my per-sales and learn type projects.

I’ve found where I can define a methodology, but it does me no good since I can apply it to a project.

Any ideas on what I may be missing? I can only assume that pre-sales and learn projects do not support a methodology.

Congratulation, you know how to copy text from LCS landing page to AX forum. :-)

Unfortunately I'm not completely convinced that it answers John's question.

John, open your project in the new LCS dashboard. You should see (among other things) phases of your current methodology and just above it is a button with ellipsis (…). It opens a menu which includes Change methodology.
If it doesn't work for you, could you tell us more about the specific problem?

Thank you. There are two dashboards (1) Classic (2) Beta version. I was using the classic version. I had to change my dashboard to the new beta version as suggested. I then was able to see the default surestep methodology and the button (...) which allowed me to change my methodology.

Hello John,

I do not see the option Crash Dump Analysis in LCS. It is (already was) enabled in Preview Feature Management....
I do see it in another project, so maybe the type of project could be a reason.

I have changed the methodology of the project, but still do not get this option ... (and I really need to upload the crash dump ...)

It shouldn't have anything to do with methodology. I think it depends on the type of project.

So, is there a way to change the type of the project ? If I remember well, I can only choose a methodology and not a project type ..??

I'm not aware of them.

Regarding methodology, it's basically just a list of tasks and linked documents, as far as I know. You can easily create your own if you want. That's why I think it doesn't have impact to other tools.

Hello Martin

I have a question on this subject. My customer just setup a new project in LCS and the default methodology that appears now is Analysis, Design, Develop, Test and Deploy. I would like to change this methodology to something else as we are not following the default one. However it wont let me edit or delete any of the phases or tasks.

Have you come across this issue?
