Delivery date control and Intercompany

Hi, I am trying to figure how to handle dates when using Intercompany. I would like to know if Delivery date Control only use data from the "own" Company in an Intercompany relation or it also check values from the other Company in the relation to calculate correct dates?

From what I can figure out it does not.

Example:

Background: A selling Company (in an intercompany relation) has delivery’s only on Tuesdays to the buying company - transport lead times between these companies is 2 days.

Alternative 1: I did set this up with a mode of delivery connected to a transport calendar (only Tuesdays) in the selling Company against the customer which correspond with the buying Company. The transport lead time is set in the selling company to 2 Days in Inventory management. If I now enter a sales order in the selling company CTP suggest ship date = Tuesday and receipt date = Thursday which is correct. If I go to the Intercompany purchase order in the buying Company receipt date is Thursday - Everything fine!

Alternative 2: Same setup as in "Alternative 1" but the transport Leadtime is set up on the vendor in the buying Company instead of the transport Days in the Selling Company. When I enter the same sales order in the selling company CTP says ship date AND receipt date is Tuesday.

If I instead of enter a sales order in the Selling Company enter a purchase order in the buying Company with the same conditions as above (both alternative 1 and alternative 2) the Requested receipt date does not take into consideration that the Selling Company has a setup that only allows deliveries on Tuesdays. In some scenarios I will get an error message that is generated from Delivery date Control in the Selling Company but no suggestion of a valid date.

My conclusion is that in an intercompany relation there is no full support when it comes to calculation of dates that takes setup from both companies in consideration.

Is this conclusion correct or did I miss something?

    Hi Patrick

CTP and Intercompany process is not supported , however the other delivery date controls options work as expected.

The new Planning optimization add-in is recommended.
