Dear

If you have a Microsoft tenant in the US region and you create an environment with the GB localisation, where will the data physically reside? Will that be in GB in the EU or in US?

If you have a Microsoft tenant in the US region and you create an environment with the GE (German) localisation, where will the data physically reside? Will that be in GE in the EU or in US?

Localisation versus physical storage of data

The data will reside in the azure region tied to the Country/Region of the environment, not your tenant. So if you create an environment with a GB Country/Region code, the data will be in an azure region for GB.

If a Microsoft tenant is in the US region but you create an environment with GB localization, the data will indeed be stored in an Azure region for Great Britain (GB) in the EU, not in the US.

Similarly, if the environment is set to German (GE) localization, the data will be stored in an Azure region for Germany (GE) in the EU.
