FRx - not showing budget figures

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

My client is on fiscal year 7/1 to 6/30. He imported new budget data into GP (07-01 to 9/30) and I went into FRx and changed the book code to the new budget id.

Issue is that the budget amounts don't appear on the report. The budget column just shows zero. I did check GP, printed the budget report and the report showed data.

It has worked flawlessly back in FY2010 and the only thing i noticed is that budget 2010 is based on FISCAL YEAR while budget 2011 is based on DATE RANGE.

SHould it be based on Fiscal Year for it to work? Any other ideas what to check?

Thanks!

This is fixed. I just found out that FRx won't read budgets if it is based on DATE RANGE. It will only read if budget is based on FISCAL YEAR.

Hi Susan, thanks for the reply. I tried it but it didn't work. The book code (budget id) can be selected but when I generate the report, the budget figures don't show up.

As for the Fiscal Periods, they have been created and its year 2011 - 07/11/2011 to 6/30/2012.

Look and see where your sysdata is sitting by going into FRx and going to Admin>>Organization and sysdata (on the lower right).  Then go out to the sysdata and rename all the .g32's to old.  Then when you log in you should be building your GL index and see if it now has your new budget.  Have you created your new year in the fiscal periods for 2012.  Microsoft Dynamics>>Tools>>Company>>Fiscal Periods.  Enter in your year 2012 and the 07/01/11 start date and 06/30/2012 End Date.  If you haven't done this, do it first, then go to Frx and rename your g32's.
