SSRS without Visual Studio

Hi all,

I need to customize few reports which are not possible in Dynamics CRM online. I browsed and found that I need to install SSRS for reporting on Windows OS.

Can someone clarify 

a. Do we need to have Visual Studio installed, if we want to work on SSRS

b. Is there any way we can create custom reports i.e. Data Loader etc.

Please reply as I need to work on this urgently.

    You can use SQL Data tools to develop custom reports.

    No. you need only sql server data tools.

    b. Is there any way we can create custom reports i.e. Data Loader etc.

    Use Sql server data tools.

    Himbap is also speaking the same.

    Thanks all for the reply.

    I will try the same and revert back.

    I tried to connect to CRM via SS Report Builder though, it is not allowing me to connect to the CRM online server. Do we need to enable some setting in CRM or Report Builder doesn't work for online version?

    Report builder does not provide support for fetchxml reports this may help: community.dynamics.com/.../180439

    a. VS Data Tool is required.

    b. No. Report Builder is only applicable for on-premise system.

    For Dynamics CRM online you have to use SQL Data tools
