Dynamics 2010 and Server 2016?

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

All -

I'm starting on bringing our Dynamics into this decade.  We are running GP 2010 SP1 on Windows 2003 x86 with SQL Server 2005 x86.

My end result would be to have it prepped for 2018.  I would like to be running on SQL Server 2012 at least as well.

So my thought is to bring it at least to GP2015 running on Server 2016 so that it's ready for 2018.  I know I need to have it running on SP4 before I can upgrade major versions.  Would the path of going to 2010 SP --> 2015 be to correct path?

I'm starting to build my vm server.  Will GP 2010 SP1 run on Windows Server 2016 with SQL Server 2012?  I know SQL Server will run on 2016, but what about GP?

Also, if someone has some documentation for this type of path, it would very much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

Jeff G

One error in my post.  The SQL Server will be running SQL Server 2014.
