Short Pick - WHS AX 2012 R3

Dear All

I am working on a scenario of short picking for a Sales Order. The Sales Order has 3 items to be sold. After releasing to Warehouse, 1 Work was created with Pick and Put instruction for 3 Items

During Picking, I selected Short Pick and input quantity as 2 only

Then for the last 1 item, one more work should be created. However when I open the Sales Order and try to release to warehouse again, this message appear and no further work was created

Is there any idea about this scenario?

"All sales lines have already been released to the warehouse for sales order VAS-000048"

    Hi,

    This scenario is not a short pick up to me. It's a "full" action.

    When you start picking you need to click on "Full" in the mobile device after the second item. With this, work is closed with the two firt item and a work is free for the last item.

    Short pick means that you don't have/find goods in a location, this is why AX required an Exception for this action.

    Hope it'll be helpfull.

    Hi, I don't think system should create another work for remaining 1 quantity, once you release to warehouse system create work for 3 quantity with Pick / Put. Short pick just allow you to pick less quantity or quantity in chunks. After picking 2 quantity you can see your work form remaining work quantity will show 3-2 = 1 only.

    You are getting below message because all quantity of a sales order has already been released.

    "All sales lines have already been released to the warehouse for sales order VAS-000048"

    Hi Nghia,

    On the setup of the Warehouse, you have the parameter 'Decrement load line'. If you tick this, and then run your scenario again, does release to warehouse then work?

    You should be able to create a new wave manually and use the Maintain Shipments button to add that line to be waved a second time.  Then you can process that wave to create more work, assuming there's more inventory to be picked.

    Hi Sanjay

    After we used "short-pick", the quantity to pick will be changed to 2 and remaining is 0 only. So we need to generate a different pick work somehow

    I am not able to add that Sales Order into the new Wave again. The status of that Sales Order is "On Ware" so the "Add to Wave" button is disabled

    Any further ideas for that? Thanks!!

    That parameter was already set as ticked when I tried the scenario. I even tried to un-tick and proceeded the same steps but nothing is different

    Hi Terry

    With your hint about "Decrement Load Line", I am able to resolve the issue.

    This parameter is actually set at 2 places

    - In the properties of Warehouse, this parameter was ticked already

    - In Work Exception setup, I have not ticked "Automatically decrement shipment or load". After select this option for the Work Exception, I am able to re-release the Sales Order and a new work is generated to pick the remaining item

    hi, is there some condition so the short pick button is appearing in mobile device? in my case, this button is not appearing on the first pick form storage to staging. only full button is there. The short pick button only appear when i click full button and then perform pick for remaining qty.

    The Worker has to be set up in that way so its is allowed to over/under pick
