We have noticed in CRM 2013 that a tracked emails from outlook do not populate the date sent field in CRM Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this or had a similar experience

Thanks! This is exactly the solution to my problem.
I assume that you are interested in seeing the date the email was received or sent in Outlook represented in Dynamics.
I had exactly the same problem, but it turns out that we're all (understandably) looking at the wrong field (thanks to this post for the info: https://www.crmug.com/communities/community-home/digestviewer/viewthread?GroupId=121&MID=13017&tab=digestviewer&CommunityKey=5ab602e5-51fe-4cc2-b467-d970807c0e8a).
"Date Sent" is only populated for emails sent by Dynamics. For emails tracked in Outlook, the "Actual End" date displays the date the email was sent or received. From some limited testing, it seems to work for us!

look at activity entity, there is column date sent (senton).
