Event Portal Make user login persist

Goal: we want to keep the user logged in for 30 days after the user logs in.
 
If we set this to 72000:00 Authentication/ApplicationCookie/ExpireTimeSpan, will this keep the user logged in? 

I think ExpireTimeSpan, might just be idle time, once the user closes the tab, will the user no longer be logged in? 

is there any other way to keep the user logged in, forever or for 30 days?
