is it possible to change the owner of a Contact when registering for our portal? Right now, we have one portal, but in the future we may have multiple portals serving different purposes and different audiences. We're thinking about differentiating the owner of the created contacts to differentiate who is registered on what portal.
Can this be done automatically somehow?

Currently the only way to change the owner of a contact is through the execution of a workflow, if the field username is filled (this means this was created from the portal) reassign the contact to another user.
For the requirement to differentiating who is registered on what portal, I'm afraid this is not currently possible.
I think this is a valid requirement, it would be a good idea to be submitted for new releases.
