How to stop an executing job (a job which is in running/execution state) in Data Management?
*This post is locked for comments
Are you sure you are referring to AX2012? Data management is more a word linked with Dynamics 365. You have used the AX 2012 version tag where it was called Data Import/Export Framework.
Why do you want/need to stop it?
Yes, lets say I exported a job and now I want to stop it. How to do that?
Hi Kishlay,
I asked some questions as it is not clear to me if you used the correct version tag. Are you using AX 2012 or Dynamics 365? The answer will be different, so I do need the correct application version.
PS: Is the job still running?
Sorry, I am using Dynamics 365.
Yeah. That is what I thought. You had used the wrong tag. I have corrected it for you.
If you started the job using the button 'Import' or 'Export' it will run as a thread on the server. The process might be stopped already by a certain failure. In that case the job remains as Executing. If it is running in batch, you have to see if the Batch task itself is in executing state.
It would be possible to cancel the batch job. If you had not used the batch framework, you can assume the process had an error and delete the history and start a new project.
Thank you for the detailed information :)
