Reversal vouchers to follow the same number sequence as the original voucher

Hi,

I would like the reversal vouchers to follow the same number sequence as the original voucher that I am reversing – is that possible?

 

E.g. Voucher-22, voucher-23 and voucher-24

Now we are reversing voucher-23 and want the reverse voucher also to have ‘voucher number 23’

    Hi Pathris,

    This is not possible. The reversal voucher is a separate number sequence which is automatically assigned. It also needs to be traced separately in my opinion. If you reverse the same vouchers multiple times on the same day it would be very confusing to see multiple entries with the same voucher. When the vouchers are reversed, you can use the trace voucher functionality to find related vouchers.

    André would it then be possible to use the same number sequence for the reversal transaction?

    E.g. GJ-000012 for a normal transaction, and then when the transaction is reversed it would get the voucher number GJ-000013?

    Hi Pathris,

    You can setup a certain number sequences on journals and also on the parameter references. However if you have multiple voucher series for different journals, you can only setup one voucher serie for the reversals. So in that case it is not possible to follow the voucher series used.
