I was just poking about in Power Platform Admin Center and was looking at my D365 environment with Marketing in. This doesn't get used often as it's just a demo system.
I noticed that Marketing was producing a lot of API calls and writing a lot of data to the database. The most written table was msdyncrm_mktactivity with ~1500 creates in a single day.
Another interesting chart was Top Plugins by Failures. Most if not all of them are for Marketing
When I do an advanced find on the table type I see 5000+ and they look like just JSON packets of info. What are they? Can we delete them? Why so many every day on a system that's hardly used?
Thanks for pointing that out. I did try searching but nothing came up.
Interestingly, it looks like mine is not growing, but they are still being created every day so I can only assume they are being deleted automatically already. In that post you refer to, people talk about a July release so I assume that was last year. This system was only set up a couple of months ago so must be on the latest release where it has been addressed by Microsoft.
Looking at the storage in my Database tables, you can see the msdyncrm_mktactivities is pretty level.
There is another table I'm not too happy about and that's msdyncrm_marketingemailtemplateBase. I hope they're not storing all the images for marketing email templates in the (expensive) database table because this could quickly grow out of hand. They should be stored in the File storage surely?!
