Hi,

Does anyone know why the columns Follow-up are deprecated in Field Service?

If a work order need a follow-up, how would that be managed?

Thanks,

Abid

If you use Mobile Apps, there is a Follow Up command on the Work Order form. It basically copies a few fields from current Work Order to a new one.

The reason why the "Follow-up" columns are deprecated in Field Service is because the follow-up functionality has been replaced with a more robust and configurable feature called "Bookable Resource Booking".

Bookable Resource Booking allows you to schedule follow-up work orders or any other type of related work order using a combination of resources, services, and requirements. This feature allows you to specify the start and end times of the follow-up work orders, as well as any other details that may be required.

To schedule a follow-up work order using the Bookable Resource Booking feature, you can create a new work order record and specify the required resources and services, then set the follow-up date and time in the scheduling section. The follow-up work order will then be automatically scheduled according to the availability of the resources and services selected.

You can also set up custom workflows or plugins to automate the process of creating and scheduling follow-up work orders, based on specific criteria or conditions.

Overall, the Bookable Resource Booking feature provides a more flexible and customizable way to manage follow-up work orders, and allows you to fully leverage the power of the Field Service scheduling engine.

    Hi AbidS,

If a follow-up is required, field technicians should note it with a custom "Follow-Up Required" work order substatus to ensure back-office workers create a follow-up before closing the work order.
