Error on Workflow - When E-mail Created

Hi All,

I am having a strange error with one of the workflows I have in our system and can't for the life of me figure out why.

The workflow I have setup runs when a new e-mail is created in the system. The first step in the workflow is a check to see if the email is from our queue "Support". If this is true then the next step is to stop the workflow. I have uploaded a screen shot of the workflow here.

The issue I am having is that sometimes when the workflow runs it stalls with the generic error "An error has occured. Try this operation again." I have uploaded a copy here.

The majority of the time this workflow works fine but I have about 5 - 10 cases per day where it fails on this step with this error. I can not find any similarities between the emails so can't really provide a pattern as to why it is happening. The only thing I have noticed about the emails that is the same is that they all have the warning "The email below might contain script or content that is potentially harmful and has been blocked". But this doesn't make sense to be the cause as I have plenty of other e-mail with this warning which progress through the workflow fine.

I have turned on trace logging and have a copy of a trace from when an error occured but am not sure what I am looking at.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Sam Wettig.

    Attach trace file, then we can take a look. Also, can you provide screenshot of workflow with error?

    On which does it stall/errors?

    Hi David,

    Thanks for your response it is much appreciated. The trace file can be found here - http://www.filehosting.org/file/details/134373/Trace.rar

    I have also taken 3 screen shots of what has happened today. The first is the "System Jobs" view of the job that is stuck in waiting. The second is the error I get when I open up the system job which is stuck. The third is a copy of the e-mail which was sent. I hope this helps.http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/139/workflow3.jpg - http://img265.imageshack.us/img265/4354/workflow4.jpg - http://img191.imageshack.us/img191/2658/workflow5.jpg Thanks again for your help.Sam Wettig.

    Hi,

    Can you lookup this User ID and Privilege ID in your database?

    UserId: {20660028-7914-DE11-A1F4-000C2907FCFE}
    PrivilegeId: {94C3AC2C-EB23-41CB-A903-4E2E49E910B4}

    When looking at your logs, just after checking privileges for this user exception is thrown: "Crm Exception: Message: User Was Not Found, ErrorCode: -2147220969".

    Not 100% sure it's related, but it just might give you an idea.

    Hi David,

    The UserId returns a full name of "SYSTEM" and the PrivilegeId returns "prvReadSDKMessage". Does this possibly mean that the SYSTEM user, which I'm assuming the workflow would run as, does not have the correct permissions to be able to read the e-mails as the workflow runs?

    Thanks again for your help. It's greatly appreciated.

    Regards,

    Sam.

    Yes. Actually, it means the SYSTEM user doesn't exists at all, which is something is strange. I suggest you do some research into that.

    Hi David,

    This workflow was imported from a test instance of our CRM server. Do you think it could be referencing the wrong SYSTEM user guid?

    REgards,

    Sam.

    Can you export your workflow so I can examine it? You can send me private message if you dont' want to publish it to everyone.
