Timesheet Posting-Project-Payroll Allocation

Hi There,

At my company when we post timesheets, we always see Posting Type of 'Project Cost' Debit to our Project Financial Dimensions and Posting Type of 'Project-Payroll Allocation' as a credit to the worker dimensions.

Is it possible to control the posting type and consider project dimension on the credit entry, or it will always take from the worker on a timesheet posting?

    Hi,

As per design, the cost is taking the dimensions defaulted from the project, and the offset posting (payroll allocation) is taken from the worker. The payroll allocation is not a project cost, but a coverage for the wages paid to the worker. Usually, the payroll payments don't have a relation to projects.

    Hi,

Reason why it is taking worker dimension is because of the timesheet is being filled by assigned worker so it gives priorty based on worker dimension.

Ideally this credit should be a offseted with your actual payroll entry against the salary paid to those employees .

It gives you a very good reporting to know that if you paid 10000 as salary through payroll then out of that how much you were able to absorbe in project cost
