Compatibility GP 9.0 and SERVICE PACK 3 of SQL 2005

 Good Day everyone.

I've checking around for a document, KB article or something that can give me a hand on saying that the Service Pack 3 of SQL 2005 doesn't affect my GP9.0 client.

I have an instance of SQL 2005 with service pack 2 i use it for GP 9.0 and CRM 4.0, and i need the service pack 3 for CRM, but i can't find any Article/Document from microsoft that says that there's no problem with Gp 9.0

In the requeriments of GP 9.0 it just says that sql 2005 with SP or SP2 works, but doesn't specify if SP3 is not supported.

If anyone can give me direction on looking for such document i'll be greatly appreciated, since i can't find anything related in the Partner Source.

Thanks in advance guys!

    Hi Enrique,

We have customers on GP 9.0 and SQL 2005 SP 3 with no issues.  As a general rule, as far back as I can remember we have not seen SQL Server service packs break anything in GP.

It looks like the GP 9.0 system requirements page has not been updated in more than a year, not sure if they will be doing any more updates to it at this point.  And I do not know of any other official documentation that would talk about this.  If you need to be absolutely certain, you may have to contact GP Support and ask them about this.

    Thanks for your answer Victoria!

We did a test and it seems that there's no problem using SQL 2005 and SP3 with GP9, but one of our customers is asking that official documentation exist as a backup, as u said we contacted microsoft and we are waiting for a reply to keep going with the update, so our customer can be calm.

Thanks for your time to answer the question :)

    Enrique Garza.
