Use of Multi select field as dynamic value in Email templates

Posted on by 134
Hi all,

our customer has created an email template and is using a multi-select field on from the lead form with dynamic values.

However when the template is used to write / send an email the multi select values do not show the text value but only show the numeric value of the selected options.

Is this standard behaviour? can the multi select field not be used with dynamic values in email templates? is there a fix for this?

Regards
Christian

    Hi,

We found some documentation and conducted tests accordingly. The test results show that multi-select fields can be used with dynamic values in email templates.
The related link is as follows: https://www.adyatantech.com/blogs/insert-values-from-custom-entities-in-email-templates

The following are the procedure of the test:
Step 1. Create a multi-select field in the lead form. The options in this multi-select field contain both text and numeric values.

Step 2. In a lead form, check the options for this multi-select field.

Step 3. Create an email template.
    1. Here select Global, which means this template can be applied to any entity with email campaigns in this environment.
    1. Dynamic values are applied to the subject and body.

Step 4. Use the email template to write/send emails.
    1. Use the template just created.
    1. The dynamic values in the body show the text and numeric values of the checked options in the multi-select fields.
    1. Send this email with the following view of the recipient. Dynamic values in the body text show the text and numeric values of the checked options in the multi-select fields.

Could you provide more detailed information? This would help to solve your problem.

I hope my answer is helpful to you! If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

    Best Regards,
    Dengliang Li
