Authentication for custom web services in AX 2012 R3

Posted on by 290

Hi Experts,

I have created AIF document services for our custom service , able to add to Visual studio and push data to AX using the same, now I want to add authentication to my web service, as of now its open and without authentication able to connect.

Please suggest me solution for this.

Thanks

Tanmay

That's indeed a document service, not a custom service.

As I said, there already is a Windows authentication, therefore you don't have to change anything unless you want to use a different authentication mechanism. Also refer to Security architecture for Web services.

    Hi Martin,

First I have created custom table, after that AOT query then from Tools>>Application Integration framework>>Create document service.

Then in Service group add new service node of my service and deployed my Service group.

From System administration>> Setup >>Inbound ports, in  WSDL URL So I want to add Authentication to this. How can I add.

    Thanks

AX services uses Windows Authentication (Active Directory) by default. I think you're confused by the fact that the service automatically uses your Active Directory account and you incorrectly believe that there is no authentication.

By the way, document services and custom services are two different types of services provided by AX 2012, therefore saying that you "created AIF document services for your custom service" doesn't make a good sense. I guess you mean something else by "custom services".
