Is there a way to decide what shows when you relate a table to a request page field, also which filter to use?

In the image below I only want to show the first columm (Código) and the third column (Nombre) and also I want to be able to filter eather by name or code but as you can see my name column (nombre) is disable for filtering.

thanks in advance.

yes you have to define the fieldgroup on the table but remember if you make that change it will affect everywhere that table relation is used just not this report

How to add field group and control the fields on the dropdown check the below blog

I tought there was an easier way than the post you provided the link to. I saw the post earlier but had to make sure from the experts if there was another option. Oh well I might try to that down the road with more hours into NAV.

Thank you for your help Suresh Kulla

Unfortunately that is the only way you can change the default dropdown list of a table relation.

There is an alternative to what Suresh has said, but you might need to consume 1 page for doing that.

First you design a page (MyPage) based on the same the relationship is based on. Add the fields you want the user to see.

Next you need to add code on the OnLookUp trigger of the control on your report.

I created an example to show this. I want to choose one customer from the customer list (or any list based on the table customer I wish):

    Captura4.PNG

    0160.Captura2.PNG

    3884.Captura3.PNG

    This customization allows the following:

    Captura4.PNG

Like I said, you might need to design a new page to match exactly what you want, but it should work!

As jose mentioned you can design that way but that will not be a drop down that will open up a page on lookup and you will not have Find as you type filter, you need to filter on the new page created.

It works well in some situations where you want to define custom look up but to work only at certain places because the field group change will affect in all the places where that table relation is used, but the custom lookup change lacks filtering as you type and it is one more additional click.
