Integration of RMS with Quickbooks 2020

I have been transferring POS data from Microsoft RMS to Quickbooks 2018 successfully and with no problem.   This past week I upgraded to Quickbooks 2020 and now receive this error message when trying to transfer data - "The current version of Quickbooks cannot work with the speified company data file.  you need Quickbooks 2007 to open the provided data file".    Has anyone who uses Microsoft Dynamics RMS had this issue with the new Quickbooks 2020?

I have the same question (0)

Hi Dave!  I did a quick check and none of our RMS users have QB 2020.  Are you using the "stock" G/L interface in RMS to export to QB 2020 or a 3rd party plug in?  Have you tried exporting using XML or the GL options in RMS?

Yes.  I go to "journal" and then "post closed batches" on the "Store Operations Manager" window. I do this through VPN client.    I've been using this method to post to my general ledger in Quickbooks very successfully for about 5 years.   After I asked the question on the forum,  I contacted Quickbooks and they deleted the Quickbooks 2020 and reinstalled Quickbooks 2018.   The posting from RMS immediately worked as it used to.   This gives me about a year to look at other systems for my cash registers before I have to move to Quickbooks 2020.     Thanks for contacting on this.   It is unbelievable to me that Quickbooks 2020 doesn't work with RMS.

Hi Dave, I am hearing that more and more as we near end of life for the RMS software. If it helps any, Retail Management Hero (RMH) has a QuickBooks integration via the folks at BlueChip Consulting. Cloud Retailer POS has has a G/L direct integration to QuickBooks as well (both the Cloud and Windows version of QuickBooks). RMH and Cloud Retailer are direct replacement programs for RMS which saves some time and money since you would not be starting from scratch with new POS software. Here is a video comparing RMS with RMH and Cloud Retailer: www.youtube.com/watch  Another video showing how to create PO's in Cloud Retailer: www.youtube.com/watch. I'm not sure what type of store you have or what part of the US you are in but please let me know if I can be of further assistance (kevina@rite.us or 208-994-9404). Thx!

Also - if it helps - here is what other Microsoft RMS users have been sharing with me regarding their plans for RMS end of life: www.pospondering.com/.../what-other-microsoft-rmshq-users-are.html
