Hi MS Community,
Under Inventory Setup page, there are several options to choose from in the "Automatic Cost Adjustment" drop down menu: Never, Day, Week, Month, Quarter, Year, and Always.
For Day, Week, Month, Quarter, and Year, does anyone here know the difference between these and which date and timestamps each one will run?
Side note: we have it set to never and place a job queue to run "Adjust Cost Item Entries" but it has been crashing these last few days due to various issues. Thus, I'm trying to explore other options.
You can read about the different options and strategies for Cost adjustment here:
Hi, just adding some info.

Hope this helps as well.
Thanks.

For day, is the time stamp at 12:01AM? For Month, does it run of the 1st of the month and which time stamp will it run?
The frequency is how often it will calculate your average cost. So for example if you have it set to month, it will calculate your opening inventory beginning of month, what is ending inventory. Add purchases and sales during the month and calculate your new average cost. If you use daily you will have less swings usually on your average. Here is an article which explains in details

We were having issues when set to automatic that it would crash so we changed to have it run every night with a queue
