     Richard,

I have trialed KnowledgeSync and I chose to go with TaskCentre.  I think it is a much more full featured alerting platform and use it for all of my alerting scenarios.  I also use it to monitor price changes like Mayra has requested and other auditing features.  However, I don't think KnowledgeSync or TaskCentre will audit for her out of the box.

If I have a cost of $1.00 and then someone changes it to $1.10 then there is no history there to say

    select * from iv00101 where item_old_cost <> item_new_cost

    Does that make sense?

On another note, you really should take a look at TaskCentre.  It blew KnowledgeSync out of the water.

You can get a copy of KnowledgeSync from Vineyardsoft ( http://www.vineyardsoft.com/ ).  This is business alerts on steriods and does much more than simple business alerts.  It can do this and much more.

    Mariano and Richard,

I think she is using Standard Cost and is wanting to know if someone changes the standard cost on an item.  It is a very similar question to what she asked earlier but in a different form.

Mayra...you will not be able to accomplish this with Business Alerts because you have no "original" price to compare to the new price.  If you have an item that costs $1.00 and someone changes it to a $1.10, you have no history to show that the original price was $1.00.

You will have to use a solution that was provided in your last post.  My option with SQL would be extremely similar to business alerts but with an audit table.  Since you do not have anyone who can create anything like this in house, you will need to talk with your partner or one of the other companies that posted in your last question.

Sorry this can't be done with Business Alerts out of the box.

Although you did not say, most people when they ask for this want to know when a user has changed the price of an item on a sales order.  Unless your pricing scheme is simple, this can be a complex formula.  You need to compare the unit price on the sales order with the proper unit price for the customer.  While the unit price on the sales order is easy, it is the calculation of the proper unit price for the customer that is often difficult.

You need more assistance than can be provided in a forum to accomplish this.  You should contact your partner.

Can this be done?  Maybe. Probably.  I would create a view that constantly creates a price book with current/correct pricing per customer.  Then compare the value in this view with the sales order and determine if an alert needs to be raised.

To keep down the number of emails, you might consider printing a report daily listing these price changes and automatically generate that report.

This is a bit of a strange request. An item cost will most likely change due to your purchasing invoices. If you are constantly buying and prices are constantly fluctuating you will end up with tons of emails. Now, as for the item pricing, are you referring to the Price List or you are referring to the pricing provided to customers?
