Backup and restore Business central on premise

Good afternoon,

Does exist some documentation where can be read the procedure for restoring a Business central on-premise with a database backup?.

Is it really needed doing something else than :

- Install SQL
- Install Business central same version as in previous env from which you got the database dump
- Import the database dump.
- Configure BC instance to connect to that imported database.
- Restart BC.

Is it better to.... perhaps uninstall and unpublish extensions, then publish/sync/install them again or similar?.

Is it important to achieve some steps in this situation when restoring from a sql server database dump?.

I have not really been able to find the answer by my own in the Microsoft web documentation so I would be very thankful if you could point me to some Microsoft official doc or at least someone could answer me for clarifying if I have missing some important step (even it seems to be working).

Best regards,
I have the same question (0)

As long as the version is consistent, it can be restored, and the extension is already included in the database.
Since you are not upgrading to other version, there is no need to uninstall or unpublish the extension.
The only thing to note is that the license needs to be imported. If you do not have the original customer license for this database, nor a partner or development license, you may not be able to use all functions in the database.

    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.
