Hi all,
I got an error while preview the reports in MS Dynamics NAV 2015 client machine !!!
it says that “Rendering output for the report failed and the following error occurred : The definition of the report is invalid.”
What does it mean?? I have tried with re-installing and even gave permission to the user.
There are around 4 client computers and only one computer got this issue !! Please help me on this.
Thank you.

Just for other's references purpose, we resolved the same issue by reinstalling ReportViewer on the User's system, facing the issue. The ReportViewer installation is available in the "Prerequisite Components" folder of the Installation CD.
Best thing is to reinstall windows to this particular computer. This is definitely not an issue with the report or NAV since as you mentioned report is working fine with other users.
Please post the complete event log error message
Hi all,
I just remove company logo and even the company information record from the report. Nothing has changed !! same error again and again !! anybody has any clue regarding this matter ???
Just remove that rec from the report and check.
Hi,
No I haven't use any images in the report. But I have company logo in company information table.
Things you need to follow,
1. reinstall .net framework in the related computer.
2. check user permission (This is very odd thing to happen with your error message)
3. check any images are used in the report (Such as company logo)
4. check any variables there with images on them ( such as company info table which contain image of the company logo)
4.1 . If so then try the report without that related rec. Even if you didn't add the image to the report, once you use the GET statement NAV will load the date. Therefore remove the rec and try it.
please publish the complete error messages from eventviewer concerning that issue.
do you use one common nav service instance for your computers or does each of them use it's own nav service instance ?
Hi Dinuka,
Are you using any images in your report? If Yes, put your image variable under a data item which has less iteration in the report.
