Connector Nav Currency to Exchanges Rate Mapping Missing

(0) ShareShare

Installed latest version of Nav Connector.

When I create a New Integration, andn create mapping from file I only get the Nav Currency to Currency Mapping. I do not get a Nav Exchanges Rates to Currency Mapping.

When you create from file it only has hte Nav Currency to Currency Mapping and not the exchanges rates as stated in the manual.

I created this mapping manually but it has a mandatory fields for Status - Name and Value.

I cannot figure out how to populate these and keep getting the error

Unable to cast object of type 'Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Metadata.StateAttributeMetadata' to type 'Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk.Metadata.PicklistAttributeMetadata'.

Any Ideas -

Do you have the same currencies available on both Nav and CRM?

Not yet - I thought the mapping would create the currencies and the rates

Do you know why the NavCurrency Exchange Rates mapping does not exist out of the box.?

The field causing the issue is the status below - mandatory field

    I am not sure.

Bill, I would make sure that the currencies are in both system and then see what happens. I am not sure if the connector will add the currencies for you.

    Gus,

Thanks for replying - I created the currencies manually, but the exchange mapping still will not work.

The issue is with the exchange mapping - there is a mandatory field called Status -> name and value.

I have tried entering 0,1,active etc but still the same error. Any ideas what should be in this field.

This field was not mandatory in previous versions of the adaptor.

    Hi,

You don't need to sync rates manually.

CRM don't have separated Entity for Rates and everything what need - just update Excane Reate filed in CRM Currency entity.

And that what exactly new (NAV Currency to Currency) doing.

When you add or modified rate in NAV it will sync with CRM trough this map.

One thing - to make it work, you should update NAV Code manually during setup. (see installation instructions)

    Cheers,

    Konstantin

    Konstantine,

The out of the box currency to currency mapping cannot be used to update exchange rates in CRM.

When you select the exchange rate field in the mapping, and select "Source Field" - the Navision  Exchange Rate fields do not appear for mapping, as they are in a seperate table from the currency code table.

Additionally I still cannot get the currency to currency mapping to work correctly, as it is insisting on a mandatory field to be populated - "Status Name" - Whatever I enter in this field (0,1 Active etc) it fails on the connector.

    Hi Bill,

    Two questions:

    1. Are you did modifications in NAV required by Connector Installation? Make sure that after those modifications you update Connector NAV Settings.

    2. Do you have in your map NAV CurrencyFactor field? This field should be mapped with CRM Exchange Rate.

    Cheers,

    Konstantin

I have applied the currency hot fix as per installation manual, and run the adaptor configuration again.

I have created new integration - still the same problem.

    1. Status is mandatory - integration always fails.

    2. The Exchange rate field in the currency mapping is set to currency factor.

The CurrencyFactor field in NAvision does NOT contain the Exchange Rate. The exchange rate in Navision is held in the exchange rates file. Why have they provided the wrong mapping out of the box?

Thanks for taking time to reply - it is appreciated, but I have decided to enter currencies and rates manually.

Bill, have you upgraded the currency maps to the latest versions?  With V2 and with version 2.0.620.1 (which is the latest verison of Connector) new maps were shipped with Connector and the plugin for CRM were upaded to address this issue.  NAV support is very aware of how to address the issue as well, so if you do open a ticket it should e resolved fairly quickly.
