Can't see non-GP SSRS Reports within Great Plains 2010 SP 3

Posted on by 55

Quick Problem Description:

Our Custom SSRS reports are not showing up in the Reporting Service Reports list within GP.

Environment:

Dynamics: Great Plains 2010 SP3 ( 11.00.2121 )

SQL Server 2008 SP 3 ( 10.0.5500.0 )

No Sharepoint installed or being used

No CRM installed or being used

We recently upgraded from GP 10 to GP 2010.  We didn't use SSRS reports within the old GP 10 system.

What I've configured in GP:

Used Reporting Tools Setup to deploy the built-in SSRS reports to our report server.  The first 17 reports show up as "Not Deployed" status, but all of the others show up as "Deployed".  I've redeployed the GP reports several times, but the statuses stay the same.  I'm not sure what's going on with this, but it's not the problem I'm trying to resolve right now so I'd rather not focus on it unless it is related to the issue this post is about.

Report Server Mode: Native

Report Server URL: http://OurServer/ReportServer

-- I've also tried adding /ReportService2005.asmx, ...2006.asmx, etc. on the end but the config page won't save if I do

Report Manager URL: http://OurServer/Reports

-- I've also tried http://OurServer/Reports/Pages/Folder.aspx  and that saves, but doesn't give any different results

What I see:

In the Deployment Status box, it shows that the reports for our company are deployed, except for the first 17 nentioned above.

On the SSRS web site, I see our /Home/CompanyName folder with the subfolders Field Services, Financial, Human Resources, Inventory, Sales, etc.  Each of these folders have the GP deployed reports in them.

In GP, I click on a section like "Sales" or "Financial" and click on Reporting Services Reports" and I see the canned GP SSRS reports.

What I've done with our custom reports:

Our custom reports are SSRS reports that we've created from scratch in Visual Studio, not ones we've modified from the Great Plains RDL files.

I deployed our reports in folders on the Report Server web site:

/Home/Custom Reports/Sales Reports

/Home/Custom Reports/General Reports

/Home/Custom Reports/Integration Reports

I set AD permissions at the folder level of these 3 folders.  I tested the permissions with various logins and the permissions are working when viewing via the web site.

I created "Linked Reports" for all of our reports in the directories that GP created.  For example, for each of our SSRS reports deployed under "/Home/Custom Reports/Sales Reports" I created a linked report in "/Home/CompanyName/Sales".  They exist there and run fine.

The Problem:

I log into GP, click on the area I want to be in ( Sales, Financial, etc. ) at the bottom left then click on "Reporting Services Reports" in the top left, and I see a long list of SSRS reports.  The names match up with what I see on the SSRS web interface.

Except that I don't see our custom reports in the list.  None of them are there.

I'm logged into our domain on an Administrator account and I can see and run all the reports via the web interface of SSRS.

I'm logged into GP as "sa".

From what I've read in the manuals and blog posts, I've done everything correctly, but I've apparently done -something- wrong.

Any help or insight is appreciated.

Thanks,

-BEP

    BEP,

If you place your SRS reports in the GP-deployed folders, do they show up?

    Thanks

Custom SSRS reports typically are run from an IE front end directly and not from the deployed list in GP
