Hi Friends,
Using DIXF can we import transaction data also in Dynamic AX ?
Thanks & Regards,
Rahul.
Hi Rahul,
Yes you can use DIXF for Master data import in AX 2012. Data Import/Export Framework is a feature that helps you export data and import it into Microsoft Dynamics AX.
You can import data into AX from any file.
For more information regarding DIXF please see https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/data-import-export-framework-user-guide-dixf-dmf
If you want step by step process for importing data see https://us.hitachi-solutions.com/blog/data-migration-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012-r2-r3/
Please mark YES if the answer helps you. Thanks
Warm Regards,
Zain

With help of DIXF we can do below following task.
1. Data Import and Export.
2. Data Update.
3. Copy data one entity to another entity.
If any other task also we can do please let me know.
Thanks & Regards
Rahul
Yes DIEF/DIXF can be used to import both master as well as transnational data.
In terms of transnational data it can be used to also import the following transnational data as examples:
All the data you can import and export is based on the "Target entities" in theDIEF/DIXF framework found in "Data import export framework>Setup>Target entities"
Microsoft has a nice link showing you all possible choices you have. Please go through the same below:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamicsax-2012/appuser-itpro/data-import-export-framework-entities-dixf-dmf
In some cases it may be missing from your AX config. If that is the case you can check out my blog post below on how to add it.

If your question is related to import of historical transactions, like ledger transactions and customer transactions, then it is out of the box not supported. However, you can write your own data entities, but it is far from recommended as it might cause some inconsistencies. You can use entities to fill journals and post them for opening balances. If you need more historical details, you can have journals with some more information; e.g. cumulative information per month.
You can also combine multiple sources in e.g. PowerBI for reporting.
Mainly these are the functionality of DIXF. But just like Andre suggested the entities can also be used for BI reporting purposes.
Anyhow the DIXF is an important tool in managing data. Almost any field can be exported/imported through this.
Regards,
With help of DIXF can we do below following task only and other task also there?
Data update is a variant on data import. There are some variants like replacing values during import.
Next to your options, in AX2012R2/R3, you can also link DIXF with SQL master data services.
What else would you like to do if I may reverse your question?
Data update in table only.
Using DIXF you can update records in a table, but you need a source file with the information what records to update (key fields) and columns for the fields which needs to get updates.
