Gift voucher redeem problem

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All,

Customer has purchased the Gift vouchers of 50 and each voucher value is 1000 $. Total value is 50000$ ( 50 * 1000) .  At the time selling the Gift vouchers cashier has given the 25 % discount on total value. Now Customer has come back to redeem the one gift voucher worth 1000$. In POS at the time of redeem  cashier enters the Gift voucher number system throws the message like  Gift voucher does not have the sufficient balance of 1000. ( it is showing 750 /- only) .

Could any pioneer can tell the what is the problem ?

Thanks and Regards

    Re: Gift voucher redeem problem

    For example :

I have the Gift Voucher Code  - GV1000,

                                       GV value  - 1000 $  .

                                      GV Number -  1234

The above GV number ( 1234 )sold with incorrect discount way .   My Question is Without reversing the above already sold transaction how can cashier sell again with the same gift voucher number 1234.

Could you please Clarify me the doubt ?

    Re: Gift voucher redeem problem

    Hi Jeff,

I can able to view links .

I have one doubt in the link of how to fix the discount  . Link says that cashier needs to  Sell the Gift Certificate a second time to correct the value again. ( to be frank i did not get what is this meaning )

But what i am thinking in the following way

    a)  firstly we can void ( reverse / return ) the Gift voucher discount transaction which is already sold incorrect way.

    b)  Re do the transaction with correct  discount way as suggested by MS.

Can you explain what is the point to sell second time as suggested by MS ?

what is your comments about my thought ?

    Thanks and Regards
