Windows CE / Motorolla Inventory Count Transfers application

Any idea on competitions from newestech and rtl for Windows CE / Motorolla  Inventory Count Transfers application ?

I guess I could just buy a wifi/Bluetooth gun and sell the device...

@ 1400 USD for the app that crashes every 100 items... with 40k items to do I prefer maybe wifi/Bluetooth..

any suggestions ?

    We use Special Technology Solutions for some pretty big customers, and also because they can link directly to HQ DB for Item maintenance, Transfers etc.

    Also Retail Realm, Davidson-Richards, etc.

    MC55 comes with windows mobile 6.1 or 6.5.  It has never had windows CE installed.  

    I got fed up with newest myself and we wrote our own app for inventory counts.  We did not code a transfer out module but the tables are pretty similar.

    Ours is not perfect but works for us and doesn't crash unless the unit is resets to factory defaults.

    You would assume that the partner that sold it to you would have made sure. Can you confirm that it is NOT running Windows Mobile CE?

    man , they installed it themselves on the device, wouldn't I assume it's ok ? also partner who sold us this and implemented sold us this device, it's a Motorola mc55 running windows mobile as I said..

    I can assure you this would work properly if you were using a compatible device. Windows CE is not compatible. Only Windows Mobile.

    if someone reads this thread, found the answer, took a few hours,

    thinking something could be missing, I checked the db, and had a bunch of nwt tables, all of them empty, the app coudnt find the permissions it needed, so I uninstalled, the uninstall never removed the later found c:\users\all users\new westtech\database config file, I removed manually, dropped the tables and reinstalled,

    all works perfectly, still thoes few bugs, but at least I could do part of inventory today.

    well

    device is windows mobile 6.1 classic CE OS 5.2.20758 (Build 20758.1.4.1) on a Motorola MC55

    device is what your tech installed on, and the problem is not the device but something in the code I fear, I can replicate the search bug, but have no time since now im 2 days late on this inventory work.

    Each time I go to work with this device/app I get problems and I'm just wondering If there isn't a less costly / headache giving solution.

    about your queue, I don't think that a reception desk that can't transfer you to a queue is a good business model, I was told they are all busy , call volume is high we had a problem of some sort and it will take a while for you to get anyone.

    I know apps are not perfect, I use another company transfer app, and I have missing items with it, but I can manage this.

    now as far as this app, yes we got the mobile suite, but not using any other module then inventory and transfer out... (partner oversold us on this) however, the lack of KB, FAQ , Support on your site, brings me down to my knees every time something happens., this time it's a "No permission to use module" or something error. know i'm sure a level 1 tech , receptionist, or anyone with a few months experience at newest could of told me a quick fix, but I fear I couldn't have that ;)

    I use same procedure then other store, so this means there's some kind of in between management / permission app that needs to be installed ? your tech didn't install anything in other store, so I may be wrong,

    tried user 1 / no password and my userid /password as admin as well.

    there are no docs / install / readme's included then the license number I already had in there, so I can't go any further then basic trouble shooting, also no docs on site, etc.

    only a Call us number, which in every situation stalls me for a few hours,

    Would you be able to call me in morning @10am flush with a tech ?

    Mobile Transfers, which is part of Mobile Manager is not designed to run on Windows CE. If you have this installed on a CE device that might explain your issue; it is only certified to run on Windows Mobile 5.x or 6.x. This solution has been deployed in thousands of environments without issue.

    The module, when acquired standalone, runs $395 per device, the $1,400 you referenced applies to Mobile Suite Pro which includes, sales, payment processing, transfers, inventory count, item edits, label printing, work orders, quotes and layaways.

    The helpdesk team that handles mobile apps support works off a queue, which is not uncommon in the industry. If you're having PBX issues that preclude us from calling you, I would recommended you set up an appointment, that way you don't have to call in when an engineer is not available that very moment.     forgot to add, they said, well finally your card didn't pass trough, but we can take a payment now... I said hmm

    you are selling software you can't even give service to ? ill wait until someone is available and do both,

    software on motorolla windows ce, mobile manager...crashes on latest versions, ALOT, hard to reproduce, searches get blank screens on returns, some SQL exception on scan's crashing the whole inventory.. etc...

    I would prefer paying for a wireless gun and use Store Op manager directly.

    right now I paid 1800 for this crap + software @ 1400 + renews @ 199 for ....bad stuff happening...

    worst part is when you call software tech  , it's this answer.

    1st call ( maintenance expired...) please pay.

    recall, we need to call you back.. I can' im in a store with no cell reception and phones are pbx'ed..

    finally get a guy ..he reinstalls, remotely after 3 hours waiting time....I start inventory..crash...

    That's Friday.

    today go for inventory store 2... click inventory. you do not have permission to access this module... WTF.

    call them.. im sorry all our techs ( one tech actually) are busy.. this could take a while...

    meanwhile me with my ... in my hand.. waiting and deciding enough is enough.

    tired of these one man shows, with 5 sales guys for 1 support team of 1.

    any suggestions ?
