Movement of inventory in Warehouse management - Limit

Greetings! I am having a problem doing an inventory movement job that I don't quite understand.
Within warehouse X, I have two locations, X1 and X2, where I store item Z, to test that it works correctly, I do an inventory movement job to move 100 units from X1 to X2. This is not supposed to be possible as I have set a limit of 50 to X2 from the WHSLocationLimit form, however, when I complete the job, the inventory has moved from X1 to X2 and the latter exceeds the limit amount I set.

I have the same question (0)

    Hello Jesus,

Are both locations linked to the same location profile? The stock limit works only on location profile level.

    Best regards,

Hi Laurens, yes both of Locations are linked to the same location profile level. Nevertheless, i have the same problem: I create a inventory movement Work  with origin X1, destiny X2, i move like 200 UD but at the same time there is a limit in X2: 500 and this location contains 400 UD, so it supposes that it shouldnt move 200 ud to X2, but then, i validate the work and complete it and finally, the location contains 600 UD, exceeding the limit i put.

    Best regards.

Stocking limits will only ensure that D365 SCM does not suggest to over fill a location (e.g. during Purchase order put away, if you have configured D365 SCM to suggest put away locations). It will not block a user if they choose to over fill a location.

The reason being, if the user says they have put 100 units in to X2 then that needs to be reflected in the system.

Thank you very much, I think I understand what you are saying. Our problem mainly lies in the fact that we receive stock of a specific item and we do not accumulate surplus in a location because it is full, but the system allows it, hence my doubt.
