So I have a report that shows records and has the field value that is configured as currency showing in the report. When I save the report as an excel file, and open it up in Excel, the currency value shows as a text field. Why is this?

According to the following documentation, when the fields with Currency data format are exported into Excel, they will be shown as Number and does not include "$" symbol.
