Hi All,
I'd like to know how to create and post a counting journal in Item Counting in Inventory Management of Ax 2009.

To create counting journal you should use following option
Inventory management > Journals > Item counting > Counting
You can create journal header and lines using this option and then post as usual for any inventory journal is posted
For Counting Journal you have options to create lines automatically, based on
On-Hand
Items
and Expired Batch job
these above process basically create journal lines with On-Hand Quantity
Once line are created it is required to enter the counted quantity (this is manual process which user does by counting items physically in warehouse
once counted quantity is entered, system calculates the Quantity to be posted (which is Counted - Onhand)
based on the on the sign of the Quantity column, while posting system creates Profit or loss journal
Please verify and update us with your findings and let us know if you need more information
Hi Mr.Nitesh sorry i didnt mention earlier that i need to create and post it using x++.Can you pls help me with that.
OK,
Createting Counting journal using X++ will be something like creating invntory journal only
but you need to utilize the create journal line standard function which we have on the lines form
as discussed earlier there is one manual process to enter counting quality for each line based on physical counting
you need to find out how you will get that value
Once journal is created you can post the journal using X++ as you post any other Inventory journal using code
Please verify and let me know if this much information helps you.
Read through this post - it's using BC.NET, but should give you an idea which methods need calling
