Hello,

I am working on understanding and research for trail balance in Dynamics AX 2009. I need to understand which tables are used to generate trail balance.

And also I need to understand 'Criteria' options. Please see below

    Hi,

The criteria that you are asking for are described here: social.technet.microsoft.com/.../6129.ms-dynamics-ax-trial-balance-report.aspx

•None: Generate report for all accounts in the chart of accounts

•Opening balances: Generate report for accounts only have opening balances

•Transaction: Generate report for accounts for account have transaction (month/period) movement

•Closing balances: Generate report for accounts have closing balance

•Include opening check box: Include opening balance in the monthly movement

The query and table used for getting those data can be identified by hitting the select button.

Please see the following screenprint for details.

Thank you, This information is much useful to me.

But still not able to find the exact table. I have opened the same popup but the table name 'Ledger charts of accounts' is not found in my DynamicsAx database. Is there any other name possible on database side?

Can you please give some information on database side?

If you want to get all the tables involved just use SQL server profiler or AX trace parser to see all SQL queries executed. It will definitely give you all the tables but to understand logic and joins between them you have to read the code behind or debug report execution.

You used the tag AX 2009. If I do remember correctly, the name of the chart of accounts is LedgerTable in that version. The trial balance is based on balances tables. I thought LedgerBalances and LedgerBalancesDim.
