Export to Excel issue

Up to November 2022, we can export to excel a months data from production. But from December we suddenly started having this error below

A call to Microsoft.Dynamics.Nav.OpenXml.Spreadsheet.WorkbookWriter.
Dispose failed with this message: Could not find a part of the path 'xsqbfwzq.cts'.

But if we restore the same database in test environment we are able to export to excel

What could be the cause of this?

Is there any solution to this issue beside restarting services? There is not much event log explaining on how this issue is happening and also it is happening randomly and frequently. My customer is using BC 16.3 on premise

    Thanks Inge,

We compared the settings of the above suggested with the test server, they are same.

But the excel download of large data works on the test but not the production environment.

Is there any SQL Server settings control the excel buffer?

    Regards,

    Saheed Adeosun

    RE: Export to Excel issue

I don't know exactly how  you do your Excel export but there are some server settings you might want to look at:

    learn.microsoft.com/.../configure-server-instance

Max Data Rows Allowed to Send to Excel

    SQL Command Timeout

    Chunk Size

    Operation Timeout

    Max Execution Timeout

    Max Rows

You could try to adjust these setting to see if that helps.

You might also want to redesign the process to find a more efficient way to export the data if you have a timeout issue.

The developer has debugged but not able to see any issue.

we are able to run for a day data to excel in production, which means we have permission.

We checked the log it said time out due slow receiving of data.

    the issue is still unresolved

    Regards,

    Adebowale

Then you should have your developer debug this.

It might be a permission error on the BC server, because the file you are exporting will first be temporarily placed on your BC server before it is downloaded to your client machine.

You can also look at the event log on your BC server to get some hints.
