Dear All,

Our sales department is preparing sales orders and at the time they do the selection for the warehouse and also doing the warehouse shipment and once the warehouse team checks what are the shipment s to load and they the doing and after loading doing the Posting based on what they have loaded. ...so far all is working well..

Now we are facing a problem. Sometimes the sales team selected warehouse 'A' but the warehouse team wanted to load the products from 'B' warehouse... The order has to be reopened by the sales team to make the warehouse changes. Can we have a system warehouse person who can decide warehouse selection from where they wanted to load it..

Thank you ,

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Nitin,

Thank you for contacting Communities.  This is Bryan and I will try to assist and answer you here.

I'm not sure I'm exactly clear on the scenario, please reread your post, but I will try to answer from my understanding of the info you provided.

From my understanding, your Salespeople enter in Sales Order lines for a certain location....we'll say Location A.
But that is wrong and it should have been entered in the line as Location B.   Do I have that right so far?

If so, then my question would be how are the Warehouse Shipments created?  In the end, it probably doesn't matter, as it will be the same end answer to your question, assuming I correctly understand your request.   But do the Sales Order people Release the Sales Order and they Create the Warehouse Shipment from that Sales Order?
    OR
Do they release the Sales Order, and then the Warehouse Person creates a Warehouse Shipment Document, and pulls in the Sales Order Source Document lines onto the Warehouse Shipment?

In either case though, whatever is on the Warehouse Shipment header, that is what needs to be on the warehouse shipment line, and that is what needs to come from that exact Location from the Source Document Line (Sales Order Line).

You can't have sales orders for Location A, but they are shipped out from Location B.  That is not possible, and it would really be a mess for audit purposes I can imagine, and would be considered a flaw in the software by most people.

If you have sales certain Customers that only ship out of certain locations, you could setup that customer with the location.
You could also look into Responsibility Centers that have a Location assigned to them, and assign the Responsibility Center to the SalesPeople's Users.  How to Work with Responsibility Centers - Business Central | Microsoft Docs

In the end though, as far as I'm aware, if you want to Ship out of Location B, the Sales Order line must be in Location B, and it is really up to your salespeople to have the correct location in the sales line.

    Thank you
    Bryan

Hi, It may be a bit troublesome, but before the warehouse shipment post, can you create a transfer order or Item Reclassification Journals to move the item from warehouse 'B' to warehouse 'A' first? In this way, there is no need to modify the order, and then the items actually sent are from the B warehouse. But this may increase the workload of warehouse staff.

    Hope this will help.

    Thanks.
