System Message 118

Hi

On attempting to release an issue batch in inventory, I am getting a "system message 118 - Overflow in floating point, number too large" .  As a result the batch is suspended.

I ran a couple of scripts to see if there is any field that violates the amount of characters allow in the field but so far I am not able to identify where the problem exists.

Could anyone identify what may be causing this error message and how to go about to have the batch release.

Thanks in advance.

    Hi Ayrin,

We were able to narrow down the issue to one inventory item and recognized that there were enormous values in the itemsite and itembmihist tables for that item due to setting up the inventory to use bi-monetary.  That option was unchecked later.

So the values were updated to zero for that item and the batch was released without the system message.

Thought I post up the solution in case anyone encounter a similar issue.

    Regards

Check the Unit Conversions are correct if there should be a converison happening.

if no conversion should be happening check that UnitMultDiv = M and CnvFact = 1 in intran where batnbr = 'xxx'

SELECT Invtid, CnvFAct, UnitMultDiv FORM intran where batnbr = 'xxx'

UPDATE intran set cnvFact = 1, unitMultDiv = 'M' WHERE batnbr = 'xxx' and invtid = 'itemnumber with missing cnvfact'

    Hope this helps,

    Ayrin
