Syncronization of contacts between Dynamics 365 and Outlook

Hello,

I have got a question regarding how contacts are syncronized between Dynamics 365 and outlook.

Primarily I want to know how outlook is handling the synced contacts from Dynamics 365. For example -

User A has a contact in his outlook. He tracks the contact to Dynamics 365 and links it to an account.
User B has a syncronization filter that syncs user A:s contacts to User B:s Outlook. In this scenario user B already has a duplicate of the specific contact that user A just created in dynamics 365 in his Outlook adress book.

In this scenario is user A:s c contact gonna owerwrite information on user Bs outlook contact or just sync a duplicate for user Bs Outlook adress book?

Hi Hampus,

If user A changes his Dynamics 365 contact and it syncronize to User B's outlook contact, it will overwrite user B's outlook contact information.

As long as User B's Outlook contact is created (synchronized) from User A's D365 contact, when A modifies his D365 contact, the modification will overwrite B's original outlook contact instead of creating a new outlook contact every time the modifies is made.

So If user A changes his Dynamics 365 Contact and it syncronize to User Bs outlook contact. Is it gonna overwrite user B:s outlook contact information or create a duplicate in the outlook adress book?

See the scenario as an initial load of contacts. Only user A has started to syncronize his outlook contacts to Dynamics 365. If user B has a sync filter that syncs user A:s contacts to his outlook adress book will there be a duplicate or an overwrite?

Does this ‘contact’ refer to User A's Outlook contact or D365 contact?
