I'm looking at setting up an Australian company in a non-Australian GP install. As a result, I am not able to use the GST Wizard which would normally run when enabling Australia from Company Options.
I created a test GP instance so I could run through the Australian GST Wizard so I could see what Tax Schedules and Tax Details were created.
I have the following Tax Schedules
ADJ
CAP
CRED
DEBT
EXP
FRE
GST
INP
INPNI
INCL-CAP
INCL-FRE
INCL-GST
INCL-INP
INCL-INPNI
There are Purchasing and Sales versions of all Tax Details and I have called them
PURCH-ADJ
SALES-ADJ
PURCH-CAP
SALES-CAP
PURCH-FRE
SALES-FRE
etc.
What I am not understanding is the way that the wizard grouped tax details under each tax schedule.
For example, the Tax Schedule DEBT (GST Debtor) has the following Tax Details
PURCH-ADJ
PURCH-CAP
PURCH-FRE
PURCH-GST
PURCH-INP
PURCH-INPNI
PURCH-I-CAP
PURCH-I-FRE
PURCH-I-INP
PURCH-I-INPNI
PURCH-FRE has 0% tax but PURCH-CAP has 10% tax. If the CRED Tax Schedule is used for a creditor, how does it know which of the Tax Details to apply? Is it 0% or 10% as both tax details are listed under this schedule!
Hoping someone can shed some light on this subject for me please!
