Hi,
I went to packages local directory and chose the form I want to edit.then clicked right click -- edit
I edited and clicked save but it said access denied.
Why exactly don't you use Visual Studio to change application objects? Renaming files directly is possible, but then you also must update the content of the file. Visual Studio does it for you.
You need administrator permissions to change those files. Also, make sure that the file isn't locked.
I edited using visual studio..but the name node isn't changing..it's just the name used to have capital letters and I out them back to small letter.. it changed but the name property is still capital. How can I edit as an admin?
The problem is that your new name is the same, it differs just by letter case. Rename it to sommething else and then again to what you actualy want. For example: MYITEM -> MyItemX -> MyItem.
But if I do this to a table..I'm going to lose all data correct?
You won't. The database isn't touched until you execute DB synchronization.
Thank u it worked.
But how to have admin permissions to edit from there?
If I try to rename a file in File Explorer, Windows tell me that I need admin permissions and give me an option to run the action as an administrator:
