I am checking GP 2013 with multiple DSN and companies on a single machine. I noticed while checking that it prompts you exact companies only when you run GP from specified folder only. Suppose I have created two Dynamics database and attached companies in following way-
case 1 : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013$INDYNA3 (Related to Dynamics named "DYNA3" with DSN named "Dynamics GP 2013 - 01")
case 2 : C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\GP2013$INDYNA4 (Related to Dynamics named "DYNA4" with DSN named "Dynamics GP 2013 - 02")
Suppose in case 1, if I run GP from the specified folder and even if I choose incorrect DSN "Dynamics GP 2013 - 02" ( which is wrong but GP allows it to do so), it will list companies related to "Dynamics GP 2013 - 01" only.
My scenario : I am working on ad ADDON project and maitain the database information to create SysAdmin and Company connections. I do not want user to choose a wrong DSN and select the right company. I either want to propmt a proper message then terminate the application OR I would wish to get the correct DSN name even if it was wrongly choosen. Is there any way so that I may get DSN name when I run GP.EXE from appropriate folder,
