Create a new database in Forecaster 7.0

I have a new installation of Forecaster 7.0 in a Windows 2008 SQL 2008 environment. I get an error : "unable to connect to database server " when I try to logon to the utility for creating a new Database. I am able to connect to SQL directly without any issues with the same credentials.

Am I missing something?

Hi,

This is a bug in the SQL Server native client (2005 version) that the Forecaster Database Wizard relies on. The fix is to apply a SQL Server client patch to the workstations or servers on which the database wizard is to run.

Download and install the SP3+ version of the SQL Server 2005 Native Client and the SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection. You can get these here:

Again, the only things you need to install to resolve this issue with the database wizard are the Microsoft SQL Server Native Client and the Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Management Objects Collection. You do not need to install the entire SQL Server Service Pack 3 to the workstations.
