BP 5.0 broken after SSL Certificate renewal

We had a fully working BP 5.0 running atop IIS 6.0 since last year when we upgraded from BP 4.0 to 5.0. Our GP is 2010SP3. The certificate was due to expire on Feb 2nd (this week-end) and IT ordered a new one from Entrust with the same FQDN for our BP server (the server is accessed from the outside world, thus the SSL certificate).

They replaced the old SSL cert with the new one by importing the SSL cert into the server. After restarting IIS, they thought everything was fine because they only checked the home page of BP... but not the sub-sites for the TimeSheets, Expenses and requisition management... all those pages fail to load with an error 404 when trying to load the web-parts of BP.

We checked every  possible places to see if something else would have changed in the IIS configuration, but no luck. Unfortunately they did not thought about taking a snapshot of our Virtual Machine before changing the certificate... so we can't go back to a previous state.

This becomes an urgent business matter since no user can enter any transactions in the BP for now and we're at month-end.... several expense entries are due for today.

Thanks in advance for any advice and hints.

RE: BP 5.0 broken after SSL Certificate renewal

    Hi Jonathan,

Thanks for your suggestion... a ticket request has already been submitted to our partner. The re-install is not an option for us and we already tried to run a repair across the BP and a reconfiguration too.. None of them solved the issue. I'm sure the re-install would not solve any of the problems, as this seems to be a pure security issue with the SSL certificate. I went thru a similar case with the BP 5.0 upgrade last year... but the error was slightly different, but also related to the port 443 and SSL. At the time I was able to fix it by correcting the port binding, but this time the problem seems to be a bit different.

    Any other suggestions ?

Please remember that if this is something that you need assistance with right away your best option is to open a support case. With that being said I would recommend you reinstall BP and then configure the SSL cert onto the new Web Application/site collection.
