Error using Sales Order Agent – Insufficient permissions opening company

Hi everyone,

I’m testing the Sales Order Agent in Business Central (version 26.4, Italian localization) and I get the following error message:

"Unable to open the company 'CRONUS IT RENTAL DEMO' due to insufficient permissions to complete the requested operation."
(this error message was translated from Italian, so it might not be the exact wording in BC EN/US)

In Italian the error reads:
"Impossibile aprire la società 'CRONUS IT RENTAL DEMO' a causa di autorizzazioni insufficienti per completare l'operazione richiesta."

What I don’t understand is which permissions are considered insufficient:

The mailbox works fine and emails are being read.

My user (administrator) has the permissions to configure the agent.

I’m also a super user for the company.

What else should I check to resolve this?

Thanks in advance for your help!
Marco

    Hi Marco,

I am not so sure that Sales order agent functionality is available in Italian version.

    Please refer official documentation:-

Well, it’s actually announced for October. I guess I was misled by the fact that the content was already available in Italian and that the mailbox seemed to be working fine for reading the sales emails. There’s also a bit of confusion around this topic when it comes to the Italian localization. Thanks for your attention!

    Thank you @Sumit Singh

    Hello,

We encountered a similar question while validating Sales Order Agent during implementation.

Based on the information shared, I'd first verify that the Business Central environment meets the supported prerequisites before investigating permissions further. Sales Order Agent is available only for supported country/region versions, so using an unsupported localization can result in behavior that appears to be a permission issue even when the configuration is correct.

If the environment is supported, I'd then verify:

-The Sales Order Agent is correctly configured and enabled.

-The monitored mailbox is working correctly.

-The Agent User has access to the target company and the required permission sets.

-The environment meets the current Microsoft prerequisites for Sales Order Agent.

We documented these prerequisites and implementation guidance here:

    https://acumens.com/Blog/SalesOrderAgent/#Prerequisites

    I hope this helps.
