Hi all,
I have encountered what I am not sure it is a bug or designed by MS in the multi-level BOM cost calculation.
The scrap quantity is included in the total cost but not in the net weight. Please see example in the picture.
Hi Chanaphat,
You shared screenshot with some text and numbers in Excel. I don't understand where you took all the numbers and what logic you implemented on this Excel sheet.
However, I would say that scrap is indeed raising the cost of a produced item, but it will not make the product heavier.
E.g. if you produce DVD players and there is a laser damaged, you will not include this broken laser and a correct working laser in the DVD player.
Hi André,
Thank you very much for your reply. Let me give you more information (screen shot) to clarify and reply me the specific questions below.
1.Could we include scrap in the Net weight per unit to be aligned with the consumption per lot size?
2. Or could we exclude scrap from the consumption per lot size to be aligned with Net weight per unit?
3. Is it Bug or Function Designed by Microsoft?
Thank you.
I think it is a design choice. However, I do agree it might be confusing. You could consider a customization to add a display field to present the weight including the scrap. As it is a form with a calculation, I would not recommend to exclude the scrap from the consumption.
Thank you very much André.
