A customer wants a portal to interact with their customers regarding building projects. Some of their requirements make us not want to use a standard portal but to build one using CRM/Dataverse as database. We are talking around 300 users what might login only once or twice each month. What do I need to keep in mind regarding licensing for external users?

- How are the customers going to "login" and update? through their domains or thorugh a custom user/password?
- Which apps do you want to use?
You have the possibility to use Dynamics 365 directly, purchasing a license for each one of your end-users. Another option would be using portals (What are Power Apps portals? - Power Apps | Microsoft Docs), as this would grant the end-users restricted actions/interactions. Both approaches have different pricing and might be worth checking based on how you want to interact with those 300 customers.
